Discoloured Teeth

For most people the perception of an adequate shade of teeth is quite subjective and personal. Techniques like tooth whitening are currently very common and by law need to be administered by a dentist. Sometimes teeth can be discoloured due to previous disease, infection or an issue during tooth growth.
Tooth Whitening
This involves the use of gel to increase the porosity of your teeth at a microscopic level and hence make them appear whiter. We normally provide ‘whitening trays’ and the gel with instructions. Where individual teeth are significantly darker than others, sometimes we can carry out selective whitening either using similar trays, applying the gel directly inside the tooth or a combination of both.
Veneers
Veneers are similar to crowns however they are invariably made of porcelain, usually only applied to front teeth and involve less removal of tooth tissue. They rely on the use of specific methods to bond them to the teeth.
